Malaga, Spain- Legal Requirements for a Business
Our fourth LTT activity took place in Malaga, Spain, between 23rd - 27th of September 2019. The topic of this activity was Legal Requirements of a Business. The Spanish project team received teachers and students from Romania, Poland, Italy, Lithuania and Turkey with a warm welcome in their hall of events, with typical folklore, all carried out by students from secondary school.
The activities started with the participants' presentations about the design of their product/service that was assigned in Turkey. Each team presented their own products/services. The activity continued with the idea that it is very important to know all the legal backgrounds that we need to follow in order to create an enterprise or any other kind of business.
During the week, the participants learnt about legal requirements for an enterprise and workshops were organised to introduce the topic to students in a general way, paying attention to European legislation on the topic under discussion. Participants talked about the Legal Requirements for a Business: register business name, taxes, business permits and licenses and business laws and regulations. In this point of the project all the students knew what was the target group, who were the people that would be helped by the Social Enterprises. It was very important that students understand the meaning of legal framework of their enterprises and how the service/product was going to fit in the European laws and regulations. Students and teachers were involved in interesting activities related to the project, such as the design of a non-profit business, presentations of legal requirements necessary to create a company. Researches were done on how legal requirements for a business were similar or different in all partner countries, mixing students from different schools, so all of them worked together and learnt from each other new things in the strategies of cooperative work. Participants attended visits to local institutions working within social needs (cooperating partners of the Spanish school) to learn about local social needs and methods of problems solving. For these activities different methodologies were used, such as computer’s research and share, specialist master class, cooperative learning, working with mind maps and oral presentations, role plays and English lessons for students, CLIL lessons and WebQuest. Students were assigned to work on the legal requirements for their products/services and present them during the following project meeting in Poland.
Teachers and students took part in educational visits, enjoyed recreational activities along the Andalusian coast getting in touch with the Spanish culture, improving their knowledge.
It is worth to mention the collaboration of the families that helped hosting students, making foreign students feel at home. It was a great experience for all the participants involved in this activity.
