The second LTT activity of the EN4SE project took place in Kaunas, Lithuania, starting with the 4th of March and ending with the 8th of March, 2019.
During the 5 days of activities, participants talked about Market Research which is a way of getting an overview of customers’ wants, needs and beliefs. At the beginning of the project meeting, participants presented what Social Entrepreneurship is, what its purposes are, why the society needs a Social Enterprise. This activity was entitled: Social Entrepreneurship. Aims and Needs for Society. Mr Marius Janavicius talked about Social Entrepreneurship and he explained that this is a concept that goes beyond profit and money and he focussed on the real aims of a Social Enterprise.
The members of the Lithuanian project team invited a market research specialist to talk about the strong and weak sides of the social business research. Mr Viktoras Jasaitis, Coordinator for Marketing and Communications and Mrs Ausra Mlinkauskiene, coordinator for International Relations for Kaunas University of Technology, presented useful Market Research Strategies used to identify a business idea. Participants learned new Market Research strategies such as looking at the needs of the local communities and identification the target market or customers. Market research provides important information of products/ services ideas that that would be nationally and internationally developed.
Students worked collaboratively in blended transnational teams using different strategies of a Market Research. Participants developed their English and Economy skills taking part in a Market activity team game entitled "Shoe Factory". Participants were assigned to carry out a market research in their local areas and the findings to be presented in the next project meeting in Italy. They had to look at the needs of their local community and identify areas that would allow international development. After this market research, students will come up with their social business idea.
At the end of learning/teaching/training activity there was a logo competition. Each partner country participated with one logo. Participants voted for the best logo. The winning logo was designed by the Romanian students. This logo will be used on all materials, presentations, promotional materials until the end of the project.
